About me

I'm currently an Academic Development Officer at the Higher Education Academy working around Students as Partners and Quality Enhancement. Before that I worked as a senior lecturer within a post-92 university.

I've always been interested in student engagement from a change perspective. As members of the university community students can be agents for change and evidence of the student experience often provides leverage for change.

I've worked on both sides of student engagement - researching student representative engagement in quality enhancement and designing and developing an institutional survey of student engagement with learning and teaching.

I'm currently undertaking a piece of research around the role that student-led academic societies play in student engagement with their course and university.
